Elana has more than 10 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist and specializes in supporting neurodivergent children and children with complex communication needs. Her approach is child-centered, neurodiversity-affirming, and focused on helping each child develop meaningful, functional communication in a way that respects their individual strengths, communication style, and needs.

Her work includes comprehensive AAC evaluations, AAC system selection and customization, speech-language therapy, parent coaching, school consultation, classroom implementation, and professional development. She works collaboratively with families, educators, speech-language pathologists, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and interdisciplinary teams to help communication skills carry over beyond the therapy room and into everyday life.

With graduate training in both speech-language pathology and education/curriculum development, Elana brings a unique perspective to her work with families and schools. Her clinical background informs what children need to communicate successfully, while her background in education and curriculum helps her translate that knowledge into practical strategies that parents, educators, and school teams can understand and implement.

Through Core AACcess Consulting, Elana’s goal is not simply to recommend communication tools, but to help children gain meaningful access to communication while giving the adults around them the knowledge and confidence to support that communication across home, school, therapy, and community settings.
