ABOUT US
Elana R. Schechter, MA, CCC-SLP
Hi! I’m Elana 👋
I’m a New Jersey–licensed and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with over 10 years of experience working in both school-based and clinic settings. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with students with complex communication needs—and I’m deeply passionate about giving every child a voice.
I’ve had the opportunity to provide AAC trainings across North and Central New Jersey for paraprofessionals, general and special education teachers, fellow speech-language pathologists, and parents. My focus is always on helping teams feel confident and comfortable using AAC in real classrooms, not just in the therapy room.
Through Core AACcess Consulting, I partner with both districts and families to support meaningful AAC use across school, home, and community environments. I truly enjoy getting to know the people I work with, building connections, and collaborating to find solutions that feel practical and supportive. My goal is to make AAC feel accessible, doable, and empowering—so communication can happen everywhere.
Our Mission
Core AACcess Consulting is dedicated to promoting communication access for all learners through practical, inclusive, and effective AAC implementation. We believe that every child deserves a reliable way to communicate and that AAC is most successful when it is modeled consistently throughout the school day and embedded within natural classroom routines. Effective AAC support requires meaningful collaboration among educators, therapists, and families. Core AACcess Consulting partners with public and non-public school districts, special education and inclusion teams, speech-language pathologists, and families navigating AAC decisions and device funding. Our goal is to help teams move beyond understanding AAC to using it confidently, consistently, and successfully in real-world settings.
